ISO 9001
When Quality Matters Most
As a contract manufacturer working with diverse industries around the world, it’s important that we do all we can to maintain the highest quality in our production processes. This includes understanding and meeting the unique needs, application requirements, and environmental demands of every part, assembly, and power system protection solution we develop. To ensure every product we design, develop, and manufacture meets strict quality standards, we have adapted our processes and practices to strictly adhere to ISO 9001:2015 standards.
About Our Quality Standards
At EK, we don’t shy away from complex parts and assemblies. It’s why we’ve grown from a small machine shop to two advanced facilities, spanning over 200,000 square feet, supporting round-the-clock coverage with over 200 employees across three shifts. But the greater the complexity of the part or assembly, the more room for error. That’s why we’ve developed rigorous quality assurance practices and checks throughout every step of our manufacturing process that meet international standards for quality.
About ISO Standards
ISO, or the International Organization for Standardization, is a non-governmental body made of 165 countries dedicated to streamlining production processes to ensure a universal standard of quality for manufactured goods. Through a series of internationally developed and agreed upon production processes, the ISO sets standards for quality, safety, and efficiency of products, services, and systems to help protect businesses and consumers.
Breaking Down ISO 9001: 2015
The “9001” in our certification represents the standards set by the ISO for quality management. To receive the ISO 9001 certification, businesses must meet a set of strict criteria in quality management principles to ensure efficiency and improve customer satisfaction.
The “2015” is the year marker for the most recent edition of standards set forth by the ISO – the fifth edition of ISO 9001. EK’s Complete Manufacturing and Power Products divisions have streamlined their processes to meet the newest specifications of the newest iteration of standards.
What It Really Means
Businesses and organizations certified by the ISO for quality management are required to continually review internal production processes and methods to identify areas for improvement and take action to meet those improvements. At EK, we have a team of process improvement specialists designated to evaluate, identify, and provide updated solutions to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency at all times. Essentially, when you work with an ISO 9001 certified business, you can expect quality products developed with integrity.
